I'm still in the learning. Still fumbling & stumbling & doing walks of shame due to practicing on a narrow waterway. Plus I have limited flexibility with back & neck issues.
But just recently I was able to for the first time get my original Wingsurfer V1 4meter up on foil.
So compared to my other Cabrinah X2 6meter I found this out, without comparing the ability of the wings getting me up on foil because obviously a bigger wing gets you up much more easily & that's the very reason why I got a 6 Meter wing due to being so frustrated in trying.
I instantly found with the Naish Wingsurfer that it pointed & travelled upwind better & without back winding. The Wingsurfer tended to point upwards & float overhead when dead against the wind. This was the same even off the foil & on a board.
When on the foil the Wingsurfer felt softer & more controllable than the Cabrinah. But obviously the Cabrinah is more stiff, rigid & its larger size would account to reactiveness in any slight gust.
Like Robby says it depends what a rider is looking for in performance & ride.
I loved the soft comfortable ride of the Wingsurfer and also found its handles were comfortable & forgiving on my forearms. On the Cabrinah it doesn't take long for the front forearm to start burning in muscle fatigue which I think is also due to the Cabrinah long handles.
But I still love the Cabrinah for its instant get up & go & its smooth non erratic float when just holding its front handle or leash.
So if I was to start as a beginner again I would have chosen the Naish all rounder 5 Meter.
If I was to choose now I would have chosen the Matador 5 Meter.
