I love my 2021 95l Fanatic for Windwing.
I would love a further refined 105l version ie no or minimal rail bevels and thick square tail..
Anyone know what is planned?

Its going to be a while before he's an 8000+ post veteran like yourself Eppo!

I liked the design of the sky wing but the weight is an issue. I was going to buy a 5'8" but then I held it side by side with my 6'5" One sup ( carbon) and the 5'8" sky wing was a good bit heavier. They need to make a much lighter version.

I think that is part of the 2022 offering/ strategy.
They are doing the same as One, and offering an 'elite' style offering over the top of the normal model that is lighter.

Ok from the pictures not much difference to my 2021 5 4 x 95l which I love.
Please advise of the refinements .

when you are saying with no issue, you mean they can use footstraps no problem?

Fanatic want to keep it "secret" till the end of august but some shop already received the new 5.4 and 5.8.

All shapes are new. New board : Skywing 5.2 * 25 - 85 L (I ordered it yesterday :) )

For Europe prices have increased : + 10%

There is also a "Premium construction", lighter and with premium prices (More than 2200 euros)

Had a look at the new 5'0 75L in a shop and the board looks great !
No bevels, no kicktail, felt not heavy. All I want to get some glide.
I tried to get such a design from a few custom builders over here but they want to keep to their design (not really custom if you ask me... except volume and colours).

Obviously they have a delay producing them so "keep it secret" as they won't be able to deliver

tried it with my 110kg it is a sinker :-)
Glides extremly well so very easy to get on the foil !
It is very nice riding such a small board compared to my 108L !
Now it was a bit small for me getting on the knees, had try a few times before succeeding.
Also the pad is like sandpaper, my arm was almost bleeding...

Can anybody report on their experience with the new 2022 Sky WIngs? I'm thinking of picking up a 95L for my second board (moving on from my current 110L Naish) I'm 75KG and would probably be fine w/ the 85L. But I've ridden a buddies older 95L Fanatic and liked it. Dimensions are much smaller than the Naish so it felt like a good step down (up?). Also, I'm not seing the 85L available yet. Thanks.

Sunset S has been ripping around on '22 75 liter and Moses 1000. He's around 175 lbs now.
Almost square boxy rails, flat bottom, like a slalom windsurf board.
Should be earlier planing, slightly harsher slapdowns.
More planing area per size.

It seems that they haven't have a 85l (same as last year).

I have seen the 95 in the flesh and looks like a nice board with rather subtle changes instead of completely redesign. I like that because the 2021 is already a good board.Changes I noticed :box still all the way in the back, slightly less bulky nose,Light rounded section in the bottom by the nose,Bevels a bit smaller, but still there, the 95 didnt have the straight tail but the ducktail was smaller as the 2021Deck a bit more flat/less domed. Downs:
200,- euro,s more expensiveStill rather heavy compared to my AK5.8x90l at least more as a kg heavier.

Ended up picking up a 2022 95L Sky Wing in Hood River. It is indeed as Jereonsurf described. Only one session on it but I'm really liking it so far. Popped up really easy riding a Kujira 980 in 12-15kts. I like the more pulled in nose as I felt it made brief touchdowns in the chop a little softer. The 95L was easy enough to shlog through the lulls but up on foil it felt a lot smaller than my 110L Naish Hover. Pretty happy with it so far.

Im also considering the new fanatic and currently have the Naish 110....but im 90kg. i am debating 95 or the 105....axis PNG foils.

Q. does the 95 feel a lot smaller than your Naish TredAvon? How does the rail and shape compare... Fanatic looks online like a fuller rail all around the board? Any other comments?

Naish is 29 wide and 5'10
Fanatic 105 is 27 wide and 5'6
Fanatic 95 is 26 wide and 5'4

i wing a lot in light winds...so worried the 95 might be too small for schlogging off the foil with my 6m??

cheers

Just to chuck a slight spanner in the current threads direction - looking at the new armstrong board in the flesh - its damn nice. Armie seems to have compiled all the latest "know how" shape design into one board - bottom, top and sides. Unfortunately can only speak from two sessions on a prone board only and its hands down the best board ive tried in every which way.

They only think what concerns me is when you compare the Armstrong board with other new board they are quite length 5'8" for a 99L board. This should be more around 5'4"
