Northern wave event. Will be one of the following days, dependent on conditions:

22/23 or 29/30 June.

More details will be posted in the coming days.

Location will most likely be Bellbuoy, Greens or East Beach.

Obviously not happening this weekend- no wind.

We'll see how it pans out for next weekend- could be lucky.

Never had a windsurf wave comp booked in in the middle of winter- that i have ever known of in 30 years, might be wrong.
Unlikely to get maximum turnout even if it did blow, perhaps WT team should review that one .
Good luck , hope it blows next weekend for you.

The "female dogs" can wear puffers this Saturday or Sunday, as it looks like it is going to blow up north.

Boy dogs can wear their puffers too.

More updates in the coming days. Fingers crossed.

Looks promising for this weekend- Saturday or Sunday.

More likely Sunday, but too early to call.

I will shift the conversation over to the WT facebook page- so follow that for updates.

Sunday's looking good still. Chance for an EOFY Sail!

What about considering a mid winter Dark MOFO inspired North vs South shootout getting on the calendar (doing something different). Maybe David Walsh could sponsor a perpetual trophy

If the wind forecast doesn't drop Bakers would be pretty epic for a proper waveriding contest... Bell Buoy will probably have some really good waves on the point with a very high low-tide on Sunday...

Thanks Jimo.
Clarence is unavailble for Sunday due to prior commitments, and Sunday is looking like the best wind, so I'll pick up from there as best I can (helpers feel free to volunteer )

I would suggest that the local wave experts, including yourself, make a call on location and timing by 4pm tomorrow (sat) based on the forecast at the time.

Definitely a high (low) tide forecast at about 3pm, so local input will be invaluable. I would think we'd want to be of the water by 3.30ish before the icicles start to form.

I would ask that interested parties click on the event on the WT Facebook Page for an indication of participants.

Cheers, Mort

That's what I was going to say Mort!

Would be good to see a few of the crew like LB on the water.

Looks like bakers is the go. Luka on way there and Jason also. I don't think there will be a quorum for an event, but should be fun. I'm an hour from Bakers on way now.
Give me a bell on 0417333671 if you want.

Goodo, hope you had fun. I think Greeny and Geoff were heading that way.
Bakers Beach was good fun, but the wind doesn't tend to be as consistent as low head, nice waves though. Nice to have the sun shining as well

Good effort guys.
So did wave comp happen or numbers a bit low.?
cold weekend, quite a few sailed down here locally in numerous locations . Sounds like a split field up North as well
cmon spring!

Ha ha, there were enough sailors on the water Damo, just not in the same place. LOL.

All the same, it's great that people are out and sailing in the middle of winter. Windsurfing is the winner either way.
C'mon spring indeed

Contest or no-contest, it was a fun session at Bakers today.
Wind was a bit gusty, but I sailed on 4.0 whole day, so nothing really to complain too much. Fun size waves, with some DTL riding and up to 8 turns on a wave.
Claire captured the action.

Awesome guys I think if the competition was for best conditions ( and really that's why we wavesail) then you are the winners. Big thanks to Mort for doing the miles to try to get the comp happening. Conditions are so changeable at this time of year, the original forecast was for a straight westerly but while it was gusty and swung around a bit I think it was predominantly WNW for most of the day. The big bonus was the sun stayed out for most of the day and the water didn't seem that cold.
