Good day,
I'll be in Tassie on a 2 week family holiday from Sunday onwards and wondering if it's worth the hassle to bring my gear.

Always hard to understand what to expect on a forecast when you don't know the local spots and conditions, so wouldn't mind some advice.
I'm into wave sailing, so won't bother if it would just mean flat water blasting.
Can someone tell me if I it looks like I can expect some wave sailing in the North or Northwest sometime next week?

Cheers

You might get lucky early next week up around Stanley way. It's a bit iffy this time of year with the inconsistent easterly winds.

TheSpotGuide.com.au is back online (thanks for the heads up Steve and Sander)

There are some easterlies coming our way over the next week or so.
Best to get confirmation from wave guru's (thanks Jase et al. #pun Al ?!?!) Would be ok for East Beach/Bell buoy - unsure about Bakers, but maybe?
Perhaps NOT for Marrawah ?

Marrawah could be pretty good later next week as the big high pressure moves in. Those are the good patterns for a southerly seabreeze on the west coast, Greens Beach and the Bluff could be good. In the Easterly that has been quite regular this year there are a few good wavesailing options around Stanley which are more cross on than cross off and the easterly can be 20 to 30 knots on a good day. The easterly can also be sailable at the northern end of Bluff beach as well.

Monday Tuesday could be ok at greens but i would say for sure go down to Bluff IF MORE SOUTH. Swell 2-3 times bigger than greens .
wind forecast from bom not perfect but local conditions can turn it on, hopefully.
Wednesday bluff in Ne or east go back to Stanley, Port Latta.

Stoked you got a session mate.

Have been feeling a little anxious that I convinced you to bring your gear all that way... :-D
Great to see some pics, don't be shy with posting your couple of weeks if you get on the water again!!
cheers

No worries Johnny, thanks again for your advice.
In the end I could take my gear for free, so took the chance.

Hope I can sneak out for another session, maybe this Thursday, although looks a bit light and small

Just spent a week in Marrawah.

Few good sailing days. Bluff beach in southerly and nor Easter was really good.

Surf was sick in the off shore wind days.

few crappy iPhone pics.
