We need a ongoing thread where sailors can post their days experience.

No freestyle or wave sailors though Hydrofoilers are ok.

Sailed Yesterday in 10-23 knots on the river in a NW.

Great flattish conditions though the sand bank was a bit low.

Rigged my 7m R8 but it was at times a bit much so then rigged my 6.2 R7 and so much easier in the gusts.

I tried my 35 Sonntag SLR yesterday for the first time on my 100 Tabou Speedster. Fin felt slightly big in the gusts but awesome at pointing.

Then it started raining late in the afternoon and not so much fun. No Hydrofoilers out there today.

Forecast for Monday looking warm with a little wind. Looking forward to summer.

My typical day would be 5 to 25 kts straight onshore , 1 m beach dump , ( measuring the face ) , 1.5 wind swell with the odd double whammy 2.5 m rolling monster. Need a floaty board and never ever seem to have the right sail size.
It is the odd day where the wind is within 10 kts.
Working on moving to a place with more consistent wind.

Just out of interest, why?
Isn't the stoke the same no matter how one gets it?

Given you didn't tell us a speed, how close to a PB, anything was new or different or a review on gear,I'd much rather hear from a teenager who just nailed his first spock or forward etc.

That's GLOBAL positioning system, Pete, I'd have thought you didn't believe in it???????

Any way I had sail gathering data to get my DIY gps logger approved for the GTC.

This is seabreeze Pete, you should know by now nothing stays on topic,

I'm guessing Pete's GPS is just graph paper laid out on the earth......

iwindsurf has a pinned thread called "where we sailed yesterday", it's a good thread, but,,,,,,,, as we often say at the beach while waiting for the wind, "yesterday was ancient history".

While it was blowing 30 into direct onshore. I dug up 2 pale pink rose bushes, 1 dark red rose bush 2 yellows 1 white and 1 blue purple colour rose bush from out the back and transplanted them out the front onto the verge. I thought this would be a good time of the year to do this as they are dormant and the soil is moist.
I cooked a pizza for lunch. Went to the shops for a few supplies, toilet paper, bread, biscuits, avocado, rice, soy milk, capsicum, jar of pesto and bananas. Went home and played chasey with the kids. Oh went for a windsurf.

Got out late for a sail. 4.5. Was cold wind for WA. I was happy to be planning. I basically sailed up and down for an hour waiting for the time to run out which was dark. Most notable moments would had been a few chop hops. I got the fin out probably 10 times. I was mainly busy thinking how much better yesterdays kitesurf was where I was jumping and warmer, and I was also thinking of some running adventures I have coming up. I also spent a few minutes thinking about whats for dinner.

Compared to not sailing though it was awesome. You guess I could say I was pretty stoked.

Yep ,
Good for learning quick twitch anti catapult skills.
30 kts today on radar. On the water that would mean gusting 10 to 40 kts of squally hell.
I'm staying home today .
Tomorrow I'm in with a nice 15 to 20 kts

Had my first sail in 15 years, got myself new gear, not enough wind to get back in the straps but was just happy I remembered how to do it.

Well I don't have the a wife anymore ,so nope probably not worth the stopping.
And my new lady loves coming and hanging out at the beach. She even brings thermos of hot coffee, so win win, get to sail and not have any hassles about how much time I spend sailing.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but in my experience initial bouts of enthusiasm from new partners are very short-lived

Think I will be ok, she loved hanging out at the beach before I even mentioned taking it back up again. She is a rare one.

Cool idea Pete. A bit like the friendly not-so-serious banter on GPSTC, but this is anything goes.

Sailed both days last weekend. Saturday, packed wrong gear. Wave gear instead of Slalom. No waves, but good to get out on a nice day. Sunday, big front. Went to same place on smaller gear. Good waves. My rare bit of wave sailing for the year. Munched foot on a razor fish. So, can't go sailing this weekend. Waiting for foot to heal now.

Pic from Satursday's session just before I went out:
