Great story about his escape from Cuba and maybe even better story about his work with youth programs and mentoring the next generation (or how 9 and 10 yr olds go from never windsurfing to foiling in three months). I've been acquainted with Alex for about five years and nice to see him get some spotlight.
edit: it would help if I posted the video first time around...
Cool dude and has a wealth of knowledge about the sport, and a commitment to sharing it. Builds a really nice board, too - I have a custom Foil/Slalom he built for me and it's been a pleasure to use. Very sturdy, with extra layers of Innegra in high-impact areas like upper rails and nose. It got washed into the rocks recently in decent surf and got banged around for a long time before I could get to it and it suffered just a little cosmetic damage - no core shots at all
