my dad and his best mate have been working and developing surfboard fins in the background for many years- this week at the start of the margaret river wsl pro they launched the final production version to the public! first a idea 35-40 yrs ago at the bluff on a surf trip at quobba station- now a reality. I've been riding this final production version for months and its insane! the speed and hold is like no other, definitely the way forward for paddle surfing ,towing and also kiting. the future is here!!!! designed and developed right here in wa, in margaret river. Quobba fins

With that much money having been invested to date, I hate to think how much these fins will retail for.
Have they been tested in grovelling crap?, No? Will test for you, for a fee.

Edit: $230?!!! Living the dream.

Hats off to you guys, I'm stoked for you and hope this is economically viable for the market you guys are targeting. Many punters may get put off by price , however once proven this will change as the product builds a legacy..
it will be challenging going toe to toe against fcs etc etc
( sorry been watching to much shark tank and couldn't help myself)
who will be trialling these??????

is there a chunk of footage somewhere to link to of someone shredding the bag with these bad boys???

Spoke to a bloke out at the reefs (Bali) a couple of years ago (might have been your Dad) and he was talking them up hope it all goes well and that they live up to the hype.

It was funny because we both had surfed the same areas over the years but didn't know each other........ we both had a long look at each other thinking who the fu(k are you

I'm never buying a set of future fins or FCS again!!!! I purchased a set of these fins last recently out of curiosity. I've been riding a Firewire Go-fish (twin fin) 40L of late and was having a ball until I busted the fin box.. its still drying... (bloody cove and seconds) it made me go back to my thrusters. I rode the Quobbafins at Rotto in over head conditions using a 6'1 V3 Rocket (~36L) and they were super fast. I was so stoked to be catching dudes down the line. Surprisingly they have heaps of hold when you need it, then when you turn, they release. Its got me buggered how they came up with the idea.... crazy. This arvo I surfed locally and made an effort to ride my black sticks - future fins then rode the quobbafins on the same board and same conditions.... wish I did that earlier.... Definitely a great deal faster than normal fins, **** tins of hold on the face. I'm 95 kg, probably more with a steamer on and I flipping love these things. I have no idea how they work. You should seriously consider these fins, borrow a set off your mate if they've got them..., but make sure you compare them to your normal fins in the same session.

Cheers
Dale

Sound like a sales pitch
But that's just me being cynical

Hey Tim, yeah it does read like that, having read it back. I didn't want to write.."yeah sick they're awesome" It doesn't give anyone any info at all, and I've heard that a thousand times from people trying to sell me **** when they get free ****. I paid for mine and I honestly believe these fins are legit and will take over from the current market occupants in time. (if they don't sell out the rights).

The forum is still a bit rattled after being force fed the RPELA unit by a certain somebody
I'd love to try the fins though.
They might struggle with what they charge especially when they are trying to break into an already established market.
If they can get a few pros spruiking them and maybe a few giveaways to Seabreeze that would go a long way

Some serious shilling going on here

Any more info available on the CFD work done on the fin design? There is very little information on the page as to how these things are claimed to work.

I've tried them now on different boards and waves types, just coming back from a Sumatran trip with plenty of quality waves. They feel slower at lower speed and true to their slogan faster at faster speed but with comprise on manoeuvrability so that I went back to my old PC5 honeycore. Price is not a good factor as if I break one, I won't bother buying them again. Maybe it makes a difference for a pro surfer but for the common mortel of myself not really. I'm a positive guy and will keep trying...

A fella with only a few posts jumps on and gives an "honest " appraisal.

to the fellas with the sales pitch....... pick a gent on here with a few hundred posts or more and flick them a set of fins, you will then get some "street cred" and an honest third party appraisal from someone within a "peer group" demographic, no one on here or possibly in the surfing community will procure goods without a "peer group" review.

im in sales by the way and have a doctorate in philosophy, no need to thank me I'm generally lurking around

Not very smart business sense giving a test product to a professional who is sponsored hundreds of thousands of dollars by your competitor, and the expecting a valid/unbiased opinion/review

I can test them on the North Shore at the end of the year & do a blog about them if you wanna send me a set of the futures. See how they go up against my current favourite setup of Shapers S9 sides & a rear solus fin

Alright ........flick mick pc a set, I can vouch he will give an honest review and possibly get more footage for you than what is available online ( I think a total of 43 seconds after a google search)
legion, mitchbat, zuke, buster, are all also a few underground chargers lurking around sorry if I missed ya out

Please also find it in your hearts to give jb a set, he needs a new product after the last one ,,,,,, well let's not talk about that.........

but serious , one free set a fins look how many views this threads already had....... imagine what a positive review would do.

thankyou but I cannot accept gratuities the fins must go to one of the fore mentioned.
