Protect SUP nose

Gurus - what (if anything) do you use to protect your SUP nose? I like to have my board resting fin up when putting it back in a cover and I worry about nose damage. I don't like the hard plastic u shaped ones. I know ION do a foam cover but it retails for $90.00. Any suggestions or ideas appreciated.

"stickyback" sail repair tape.
find a sail maker and ask him for an off cut.
comes in all the regular colours - red, blue, white, yellow etc

I cut out a small "diamond" out of a spare pad, with edges cut slanted, and put it on the top of the nose on all my boards.
