Does in the axis purple circle know if they will bring out a medium aspect wing like something that sits in between a HA & LA. Something that might carry across some of the benefits of both designs

Plus 2 on that! my wishlist wing and available tad bigger than the 1020??

A couple of years back some axis boys were trying a 1080, just a meatier 102. It was huge, leading edge as thick as a mans wrist. Must have been too big cause ive never seen it out since

I guess the high performance S series is the one in between no ? The design of the 660. Pretty sure some bigger sizes are coming out.

Here's another shot of the 1150 it's big . Plus Axis also has the new HA / Mid aspect 76 & 82 , plus the 91 which is more along the lines of the GF GL180 bit shorter with. square wing tips , But Gofoil have just released the new P series super high aspect . See pic below P180 on left GL180 on Right .

Is anyone using the carbon masts ? Someone commented on wing.surf Facebook that it feels a lot better.
Is the cost worth it to save some weight and stiffness ?

I don't think carbon saves much weight these days: Axis 101 / 75cm / std old fuse / 400 tail - 4490gram
GoFoil 210 / 29.5 new plate mast and pedestal flat tail - 4100gram

i'm sticking with the stiff 19mm aluminium axis for now.

@90kg and first Wing (6m), for low winds (10-20kt) what Axis foil would be appropriate please?

Axis 101 is my pick for 10-20knots.
I'm 86kg and biggest wing is 5.3m.

It's not just the weight saving in carbon mast , they taper both ways ( wider at the top ) which makes them more stream lined plus they flex down low near the fuse like a surfboard fin tip. This gives a much better feel especially on a prone . When you get flex in an Ali mast it flexes from the base plate on your board , which feels terrible in comparison. It's nice to have a bit of controlled flex in the mast for these new high aspect wings . Not so much on the older XL-XXL low aspect wings , that's where I prefer a super stiff Ali mast especially on a Sup .

Any word on what might be a good tail wing to go with the new 1150 for the heavier crowd. Have a 500 and 400 rear

Either of those wings will be fine , it's not a super quick wing.

I have the 400 and just got the new anhedral 390, I'll report back on how it goes with the 1000 for the ding.

Can anyone speak to the difference between the 1000 and 1010? Correct me if I'm wrong but- from what I can sus out- the 1010 has better low end lift.... the 1000 tighter turning? How does top end speed compare?

Surprised at the weight of the Go Foil. Armstrong with 1550 is about 3kg. Felt super-light compared to my old Axis setup. Really noticed it when paddling the sup, way less stable without the solid ali fuse of the Axis as a counterweight. The 2400 foil floats so you have to push it under Pleasure to carry to the beach when matched to a light board, just need a handle in the bottom of the board to make it even easier getting out of the water with a wingding as well.

Please weigh your Armstrong setup and tell us!
In my experience the stiffness of the foil And especially the mast is much more important for stability than the weight of the fuse , I tried some very heavy foils and they were very unstable because of a soft mast.
So perhaps your Armstrong is just less stiff then Axis?
And my Axis S1020 also floats and has to be pushed under....

I have not tried the 1010 but there's quite a bit of talk about it in this thread and elsewhere on the forum. Naturally it has slightly more glide and better low end but not that much. There's a photo somewhere here with the 2 side by side, very similar, slightly different wing tips shape. 1010 is much harder to get than the 1000.

I would like to suggest to AXIS a naming convention...

Eg:

1010TMSHA (thin, medium speed, high aspect)
1020FSSLA (fat, Slow speed, low aspect)
1150TABLMSHAS (thin, And Bloody Long, Medium Speed, highly available soon)

Piros take it you had a go on the 1150?what's your take on the 1150 wing you think it be good wing for a big guy 225lbs vs the 1020 which I've learned to get along with well, hows the turning and lift speed on the 1150 vs the 1020 be curious if you liked it? I've already ordered it so hoping it has similar lift maybe a bit more speed but turns fairly well like the 1020.Ive found with 1020 has pretty good range too, other day rode it 15mph to 30 and no problem think range be even better with the 1150,thanks

Totally different wings for different styles of riding. 1000 has some down turn in the tips so it carves better. It pumps well but doesn't have the glide and low end of the 1010. I feel more stable at high speed with the 1000 cause of the tips. Flat wings are more effected by currents and disturbances in the water. The 1010 will give you easy pumps at high and low speeds with smooth glide, you can turn tight with it but you'll be relying on the tail wing to assist in the turn rather than with the 1000 can turn tight with any rear wing. What style of riding are you looking to be in? I like them both and have friends that prefer one to the other. Lately I've been on the 1000 short fuselage and 340 rear for carving waves with a little bit of pumping from wave to wave and for winging in high winds. Then I was using the 1010 ultra short fuselage and 340 rear for sup/winging where I wanted to pump back out to the break and be able to wing if the wind came up without switching foils. Now I'm primarily on the 1150 with ultra short fuselage and 370 rear for sup and wing since it's off season so everything is small wind chop bumps and light winds.

What I am hoping for is small surf prone/pumping!!! and to learn / light wind Wing. And occasional SUP. (I'm 90kg). I assume the 1150 would be better for light wind winging- just not sure how that would work out/how much use I'd get out of it in the surf/prone. That's a massive wingspan.

I saw mr. Axis himself out at the local a couple months back. Was the usual knee to dick high crumblers, hes not exactly pumping back out but even he reckoned the 1150 was too big for the day. No matter what you do itll just throw a tip out the wave face. Pretty sure he was riding the 910. Hes a tall man, i'd guess around 85+kg so thats saying something

P.s Straight wings suck, the gull1000 was loving it

sorry for the naive question - but would a Axxis 1020 be appropriate for me to start winging with a fanatic 6'7 sky sup (90kg)...and any benefits over the default 2000 fanatic aero foil?
