Anyone have tried the new Cloud9 ?

Seems to me Cloud9 despite one of the first brand for sup/surf foil was left behind, but looks like they are back in the game.

I had a P27 set. Snapped the fuselage on sand bottom - not reef - and then the wing delaminated 4 weeks later. Now on go foil.

Seen the Cloud IX guys out on the prototypes for a while now and they look like they combine the glide of the HA wings with incredible carvability. Looks great!

I saw a prototype of one of these up in Ventura Sunday. It was fast and smooth. Seemed a bit hard to get into the mushy waves but that's expected with these faster and high aspect foils. This thing is clearly made to move.

yes, fast, smooth and turn hard. a really good balance of high aspect glide and pump and low aspect sruf turns. A really well made and presented foil.

I'm not a surf foiler, but I've had a few sessions on the F32 wing foiling and kite foiling. With the wing, it takes quite a bit of wind to get going as you can't really pump it off the surface. You have to pump the wing until you get a bit of flight speed, then you can foot pump it. If you try to foot pump too early it just drops straight back down. But I was pleasantly surprised because I wasn't sure if it would even be possible at all, especially as I am quite new to wingfoiling. But once up, it glides so well and is so easy to keep flying, you can ride the smallest bumps with it, and transitions are super easy.
For kiting it's a dream, especially if you're flying a small peak or cloud like I do. To me it feels like a super efficient kite foil, playful and easy to turn, but it's pumpable in a way I've never experienced with any other kitefoil. Which is awesome for linking windswell through flat sections without kite power. It needs a little more take off speed compared to most surf foils, it's more like a regular kitefoil in that way too. I'm used to popping up straight onto the foil with surf wings. Lift is progressive rather than aggressive. You don't get blown out by sudden bursts of power or speed. Foil speed range is massive.
The F28 or even the F24 may be a great addition for kiting, at some point, and I'll most certainly get the F38 for winging which I reckon is going to be magic, and possibly even the F42 for light wind days. The F32 is definitely the do-it-all size. It's been a long wait for these wings to come out, but so far it looks like it's going to have been worth it.

A couple of other points:
* Flat-on-flat mount points for the wing to fuselage - my personal preference.
* Fuselage is beefy and stiff.
* Mast is solid carbon and very stiff, not all that light, but for the stiffness the weight is worth it.
* Very happy they've done away with the need for shims when changing front wings.
Minor quibbles:
* The front wing covers don't fit on the foil when it's mounted
* The hole spacing (at least on my carbon mast) is 142 x 90. Fine for tracks, but sucks for kitefoilers with 140x90 pocketboards. Probably not their main target market. I'll get it machined to 140 x 90, but why not stick to a standard even if not the standard?

it is common with higher aspect wings that you require a little more speed to get them up on foil, but once up, they glide far more efficiently as they have considerably less drag than a low aspect wing.

the foil weight in total i think is 3.1 kg which is quite light, my MFC is 2.9 so the Cloud comes in at quite a good weight. With regard to the front wing covers, they were supposed to have a slit so they could be mounted while attached to the fuselage. Have a look at the wing cover and see the white line, that is where they were supposed to have cut it. The next lot of covers will be correct. minor detail. You are correct, the main target is prone foiling and surf foiling. The base is designed for standard tracks.
