Yacht Fire at Mackey Street Pier Geelong

There was a yacht fire at the Mackey Street pier, Geelong last night. Unfortunately firefighters found 2 bodies after putting out the fire.

maybe gone to sleep with a cabin heater on?
St Helens is pretty rundown with no real amentities, its possible they were liveaboard.

Sails on the foredeck though.
pretty sad.

I don't want to play the investigator on this really unfortunate accident, but some how i can't help it.

The fire was extinguished at 6;30 pm.
This would indicate that it started sometime before that.
Cooking dinner?

One really good thing about Australia is the Inquest system.
These types of accidents are thoroughly investigated and officially reported on.
Eventually we will know pretty well the chain of events.
I mention this because in many countries this system doesn't exist.

Every time I read of a loss like this it shakes me into safety mode.
