Now with added inflatable dinghy! Are there any sailors in Canberra still? This is a crazy price for such a good boat.

Drove around Batemans Bay today and never saw the Swanson 32. Was not on the mooring where I thought it should be. Has it sold?

Fortunately the Davidson 34 in Jervis bay has now sold. That was an absolute gift!

It's on the north side. Drive through Surfside area, along Myamba Parade then you can walk to the little bay near Square Head. If you're somewhere near the marina/town area, it's across the other side of the bay, looking north east.

Thanks for that. I saw the yachts across there but did not go over there. I thought the mooring was right at the bridge.

I have been on her quite a few times. Lovely well fitted interior. Topsides need a repaint. If I had read the latest ad on yachthubI would have seen the mooring is at Square Head. That mooring is only 6 months old!

Don't know that specific boat but the Hick 35s are a very good all rounder. See here links to another which refers to the 1998 Hobart winner AFR Midnight Rambler as does the advert.
www.rolexsydneyhobart.com/the-yachts/2013/luna-sea/
Link here to a bit bigger Hick;
www.mysailing.com.au/offshore/hang-on-to-your-fillings-mysailing-s-dark-horse-1
Note that I have never seen a Robert Hick designed yacht with a stern like that - robbing rear cockpit space. It is akin to the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton IOR designs of the late 70s and early 80s - that type of stern shape was long gone by the late 90s. See the yachts at the above link with normal flat transom slightly off the vertical plane. Perhaps the owner can shed light on this. Is it a shorter yacht design with added on extended stern? What sort of diesel is in it? Certainly appears to be exceptional value.

The Hick looks OK from outside; basic in its stark white and minimalist fitout. I'd assume the stern was an add-on.

Bit short on headroom going by the padded deck head beam. Of the triple skinned boats for sale this one was my pick. Looks like someone has just bought it. Pioneer10's are always good boats and this one was a gift.

Morning Bird has attracted a bit of interest. I've had four calls in the past week and one inspection. It wasn't for them, I think they will be buying something a bit bigger to sail slowly back to the UK.
One caller had to change her mind when her partner said 'no boat'.
The other two are keen on an S&S 34 and we will arrange inspections and a short sail when I get back from Victoria at the end of next week.
I have it advertised now at $47,500 neg. It seems to be a reasonable price point to start bargaining.

Yes, I saw that posted here earlier - and it was a steal. A beautiful vessel with rich history. Wrong end of the country for me, and not what I'm looking at for my nest step on the boating ladder, but I hope she finds an owner who give her the respect she deserves - she will reward them.

That sold a few weeks ago on eBay. Not sure why it is up again. Went for about $7k

Probably a non-payer, or a sticky-beaker just bidding the price up to find the reserve price!, thats the problem with ebay, selling complicated secondhand items like boats, that really need to be inspected!

I looked at this boat a couple of years ago. The rigging had been renewed recently, but the engine needed work, and the owner installed a "rebuilt" unit from the local Bukh dealer. Need I say more.
A saloon table with sharp, square corners, told me something about the qualifications of whoever did the fit-out.

32-foot German-built round bilge steel yacht in need of serious steel welding in the deck. Topsides look untidy but most of the work would be replacing the deck at the bow and the stern. Very nice shaped hull with a fin keel. Full teak interior, solid teak no veneers here! Kubota 30hp not running, not a serious problem. Expensive feathering prop. Furlex furler with several excellent as new headsails off the navy Swarbick S111's. Wheel steering. Quality bits everywhere. For sale with a mooring in an excellent spot in Greenwell Point just to the West of my mooring. Asking $2200 for the lot! You won't get the Aries windvane though that's on my boat! Might end up a project for someone looking for a good mooring and strip the yacht.

Interesting - I'm pretty sure i saw it in East Coast Marina in Manly, QLD, but here is listed as Cairns

From the advert. She has just been slipped , and sailed to Cairns.

Odd they don't mention construction method, sheathed? etc. Looks like a nice boat though.

This is a well-known boat that has been for sale for ages. I think it's either double diagonal or triple skinned timber and epoxy sheaved. Sadly the low price is probably putting people off.

Inboard stays, fully battened main, nice wide side decks, there isn't a shot of the front of the cockpit but it looks like all lines led back. There's a lot to like about that boat and being cold molded with epoxy should be feather light. Sweet.

I couldn't see a head in any of the photos, if they are suggesting Talesin style bucket then I can see the issue... Not that it is impossible to fix but I wouldn't imagine a nature's head would fit.

I like the fact has an anchor well and feathering propeller! The old ads had fewer photos but more info. Gets a mention in the Offshore magazine from 1974.

Lived in Melbourne most of it's life,. Purchased by a new owner and extensively refitted to do the 2014 Sydney-Hobart. Retired in the first couple of hours with major hull damage. Has been sitting idle - and on the market - since. Asking price has been reduced many times.

Doing a security check on this boat yesterday. We had a recent break-in on a nearby yacht and the owner asked me to check. Looking around the teak interior in the saloon and wishing more boats could be fitted out like this. Pity it's a steel boat!
It's just changed hands for $1200 for the whole package! The Yaesu Hf radio is worth more than that.

First yacht I ever sailed on, and a world-class boat in its day. Mind you, I'm a Half Tonner nut so I'm biased but those chunky versatile little boats make fantastic cruiser/racers. I took my boat in what was probably the last offshore series that got more than half a dozen of them, and it was a classic contest between mainly equal but very different designs.
