hey all,
here for my 2nd try at WA.
Last time I bought pole gear and kites, but enjoyed kiting so much I sold my poley gear.

This year I've got 3 weeks and a camper.
Looking to hit Exmouth, didn't get there last time.

Was planning on the midwest KiteFest, but that's off so I have no restrictions from today till 29 nov
Ive got my foil and OC Mako

Hoping to dial in the Foil int he mornings and some average surf in the arvos

Todays forecast says I should head south when I get to perth and setup at bunbury or margs.

What thoughts, whos around, where should I go ??
Help this Tasmanian whos coming out of the cold.

Well if its going to stay like that down there..plus the fact u prob need a wetsuit i would skip all that and go straight up..even sh bay u can do both..??
from where i am gently swaying on my hammock right now i have felt a lovely 'SW' for the last two hrs
....or just squabble round the pond or pt walter or do augusta and get 'lofted'
...or go out to an island..

There are still a fair whack of people that are heading up to Dongara for the Windfest dates, so its not a total loss if you head up there at that time. There will be more crew to do down winders and drink piss with.

head up north, lano, wedge, hangover bay, dongara, corro's, shark bay, exmouth.. its all there for ya!

I think dongara tourist park

It's closest to south beach - it's in port Denison, 3km drive through down to dongara town centre

Looks like Central coast is going to stay off shore tomorrow.
Might make a lazy start on the trip to Exmouth or shark bay.
Any recommendations?

I stayed on that exact some site once. Set up mid morning in calm conditions and was 30kn by 3;00pm. Literally blew everything flat
Packed up and moved to one of the sites closer to the wall towards the left of this picture (67 I think). Still windy as F@#k but not direct hit. Got the same site booked for next weekend.
Lesson learnt. Site 69 is no fun when its windy.....same goes for the other 69...

Its true that the wind has not been at its usual November craziness up here in Exmouth, but no wind up here generally means 12 meter weather and some awesome sessions cruising in flat water.or clean surf, I've personally enjoyed the reprieve from the 30knot norms that come in 'Blowvember' the reality is that everyone talks up the '30knot' days but heaps of crew end up sitting them out, gusty, choppy water and a sand blasting on the beach with any waves blown to pieces....

Head on up, today looks like a good day for driving, from tomorrow onwards you will kite everyday if you pick the right spots.

Pop in and say hi when you arrive and I can telly you the spots to check out. The wind can vary so much spot to spot, I've had guys come into the shop depressed after spending a week sitting at Sandy Bay with no wind when further North we've had 20knots plus ????

See you up here,

Tom

Plenty to see around Denham anyway. If there is no wind, head to the tourist thingo and grab one of the guides. They are pretty well put together. I ended up at the perron homestead and bit spring thing. Didn't know it existed.... then went kiting but it was nuking that day.

Search, "shark bay kitesurfing" in Facebook.. and touch base with them..

Thanks I did that and they agreed not much today.
I did kite little lagoon , but more to say I'd done it.
Exmouth tomorrow should get there for a late session depending how early I start.
Then I reckon exmouth till Wednesday or Thursday, and back to see Mick for the last weekend.
After that I might checkout the Perth spots, and say high to kitebud

So I met Tom today, nice little shop shame about the park around it being shut.

Had a couple of little sessions but definitely need to learn the spots ??

Here's for a better day tomorrow.

Minderoo (Andrew Forrest's wife's "charity") bought it with the intention to develop.

Hope they can deliver something up there but closing the park was a shame.

I get the impression it's for redevelopment but what that looks like I have no idea.

Sandy bay was fun until lunch, then I went hunting waves.
Anyways

Back to Corros tomorrow(Mon) for a couple of days. Then I reckon dongra van park overlooking south Beach again.

Ok so Corros yesty was great. 2 sessions and wind going begging. Down the line etc. I don't think I can talk Corros up enough. Great inside flat, heading out to multiple breaks, great.
Options for staying include the toilets supplied at Corros camp site, greenies has toilets, showers, cooking facilities, water and washing machine, or sunset caravan Park in Hero for all the usual park faciltilities.

South Beach dongra today, some great kickers on the way out to get air, and some little wave riding back into the beach.arayong at the sth beach van park. Great location.

On a side note hurt, may go a bit quiet tomorrow, twinge in my back, think I got some chop wrong, anyways an early night might help it.
