Worst repair I've ever had. His leading edge patch was sail cloth and tear aid. Didn't last one session!!

Hi Nathe

Thanks for bringing this up.

It it is true what you said. I did use a wrong method in the past to repair the LE repairs, where there is a lot of tension.

This is is however some time ago and the LE repair is proper repaired with Dacron on the inside and a offset patch patch on the outside.

For the LE repairs where I did it wrong. If the kites had problems , then I fixed the problems ASAP at no cost / or offered the $ back.

If you want then bring your kite over and I repair it properly. This might be some years back, so you might have moved on?

There is a standard 1 year warrenty on any repair job by the way,,

Option 2 : come around to my repair shop in O'Connor and I can give you a full refund for that repair that you had problems with, even if you got it repaired another place.

In hindsight it would be better to let me know straight away

I don't know the other repair guys personally. But think they all should be good.

Sometimes mistakes happens and it is in my best interest to learn from it and improve. Most important for me is to keep customers happy.

Cheers
Jesper

Thanks for the reply I did ring you when it happened and you did offer to have a look at it. But been in mandurah it's a treck and you don't repair bladders . It was a huge tear .
so it cost me the $100 for you plus $95 for a new bladder and I didn't want to have to fork out for another bladder
I'm happy with the local bloke down here
cheers

Ry repaired my reo really nicely, it was split between leading and trailing edges along the centre strut, even colour matched it across the ozone text. I'd use him again and recommend him to others.

Hi Nathan

I understand your situation fully.

I do remember after looking through a few text messages, from 18 months ago or so, that you had the problem and I said I would look at it asap, but somehow you could not line it up getting up this way from Mandurah at the time, when I was in here in my workshop.

When you can make it past here at my new workshop next time, then I will make sure to set things right with you and refound the $ for the repair and bladder.

Sorry again for what happened.
It would be great to personally apologize to you when you are here,

I would always recommend to get the repairs done locally. It just save time for yourself and also support the local guys.

Cheers
Jesper

Just an update, Jesper was true to his word and refunded the money . Other businesses take note (especially buzz kites) this is how you should conduct yourselves ... professionally

Neil Taylor is the best kite repairer in WA without a doubt.
Hopefully he will be back working his magic as the kite artisan and true gentleman that he is.

Doubtful we will see Neil working again, not heard how he's going for a while, I'd say ryan the sail doctors workmanship and can do attitude is certainly as good as Neil's , used both over the years and to be honest I find their buisness attitude and service similar, hope Neil's on track with his recovery

I had my first few kite repairs done by Jesper and thought they were good. Fact is, I didn't know what a good repair was until Neil repaired my kites. Since then, Ryan has done my repairs and I would say out of the three, Ryan is the one that takes the most care in making the repair invisible and strong. I could not recommend Ryan more.

I've just used Ryan at Sail Doctor and he did a great job and is a nice bloke to deal with. I'm sure the others are good too but I haven't used their services.
