Hi all, I used to drive retrieve for hangliding comps worldwide when I was learning that sport. I am a baby kitesurfer but adore the sport and can watch it for hours! It occurs to me that sometimes you might be short a retrieve person at short notice especially on longer trips. Im pretty good 4wd, do some mechanics, love beach camping, and really experienced sailor so wind/currents/sea conditions/weather charts are old hat to me. Is it ok to post a number here?
Nb Im a 54 yr old fairly fit outgoing adventure sport woman who is looking for involvement in the awesome kitesurf world-not a date!

Hi
i take it you're in Perth given your sailing post.
most kiters that go downwind will buddy up or go in a group so that they can drop a car at the finish, and share their ride back to start again. So in Perth metro, your kind offer to run retrieval is likely to not be needed. Someone might PM about trips in more remote locales though - so good luck!

maybe try to get in touch with a group at similar level and join in on the dw instead - it's a fun way to build up time on water without the pressure of needing to hold ground. I think there's a Facebook group for female Perth kiters too, if you want a guarantee (probably haha) that you aren't being chased for a date. Look them up (sorry, I'm not on fb so can't provide link)

Good winds and happy kite-learning
