Hi all,
I've got a chance at a secondment to Mackay for 12 months (coming from WA) and wondered what the kiting is like in the area.
Keen to hear from anyone that might have some experience in the region.

We get some pretty decent conditions here from time to time; maybe not epic by WA standards but well worth getting out there. The various beaches offer different conditions from smooth shallow waters to waves (not proper ocean swell though). There are a few crew who get out, mainly at Town Beach, but never crowded.
We no longer have a kite shop.
Best to wear stinger suit through summer months to protect yourself from deadly irakandji & box jellyfish.

Thanks Sandee,

Likelihood of coming over early Spring so will be looking for kites in the air should it all come together. Stinger suit will be a new experience but some warmer water will be a nice change too.
