Hi,
I just bought a Cabrinha kite+board+harness.
I am looking for someone willing to mentor me and help me start in Kite surfing in Wellington Point (or nearby).
I have never done Kite surfing and want help from the very basics.
The kite inner tube has a hole, so I will also need help fixing/repairing/replacing the inner tube.
I am happy to pay for your time, experience and help during this process and hopefully, we can kite surf together in the near future.
I am looking forward to hear from you,
Regards,
Diego

Can't help you with the kiting bit other than look before you turn, been a few close calls and 1 collision recently. There a some guys who use Wello bank as speed strip...

You really should get lessons. No kiter will want the responsibility of being a "mentor" Is there a reason you aren't getting lessons from a qualified instructor?

I'll take it from here. I am your mentor, lessons worry about the 'details' and boring stuff like safety and self rescue #snoozefest. Just be one with the kite, waxonwaxoff, this is a rifle this is a gun this is for shooting and aw man i'm out of inspirational stuff - good luck buddy

I wish you good luck on your quest also. The learning curve is steep... then tapers off somewhat...... then steep again... then you have to figure out how to turn around. If all else fails, I've got family in NZ who can arrange flights back once you make it to shore. Ignore general advice from Billob, his master skill is slicing between yacht masts on the Broadwater. There is a guy on the coast who gives lessons on the Broadwater. just can't remember his name right now. Two lessons and you'll be well on your way. Goes through all the safety stuff so you know what to do in the 'holy ****' moments. You'll love it though!! Everything will click after a few tries and you'll be flying.

Thanks Sheepninja, Whilst you give constructive albeit cookie cutter advice. I have to note I consider myself not only an instructor to Diego, but a mentor, life coach if you will. I'll take him under my wing and feed him from the bossom of my knowledge giving rise to the next Ken10..or is that Len10 can't remember. I never had lessons, it lowered my confidence, it slowed my progress, and almost made me make love to a catamaran at 40km/h. It sounds like you've got the cash so no need 4 me and velcroninja to keep sheepsplaining you..

I can confirm, Billob never had lessons, yet claims to be a star.
Next thing, he'll be claiming to be a pilot and never had lessons. You want a mentor that will guide you to great heights and abilities, not someone who will share his catch phrase 'bro, can you get my board?' .

Your night in shining armour is out there...

Oh yeh almost forgot Diego..be one with the board -that's another important bit of advice. Your Lifecoach Billob
