I returned an over 1 year old kite on warranty, cost me $70AU to send to NZ but received a new kite for free.
Have not returned a new kite but as far as I know as long as you are within the Switch return policy - it should be an easy process. (I have no idea of what's in the Switch return policy).

How are you going with the returning of the E6 Steve ?

Had to send it to France @ $120 fast post ,according to tracking it had had arrived unless I misunderstood that was weeks ago so dum ass threw the slip out thinking he didn't need it any more ,after not hearing anything I sent them a message the other day and they tell me it's been held up in customs who were about to send it back to me due to something wrong with my address info ???? But they think they sorted it and will let me know when something if anything else comes up.....I'm wondering if this is normal or I'm getting the flog off

Yet another Switch fail..... how is it fair that you buy a kite thats shipped to you from Hong Kong and your required to send it to France when you return it?

Why you returning the Element? Manufacturing issue or you don't like the kite??

Would like to hear a genuine review.

I've yet to encounter any firm that covers shipping to send returns back, and it's a difference of $30 to send it from here to Hong Kong or Europe.

I'd just be happy if companies would stop using the scum bags that call themselves "couriers".

Yes. Demo'd a Nitro2 14 one year, loved it. By the time I got around to buying one, the Nitro4 had arrived and I hated it. Sent it back on the "No Hassles" policy and there were . . . no hassles

Here's a tip
buy a kite from your local shop/ retailer, you have an issue you take it back to your local shop, he/ she then takes up the issue, you didn't care about shipping when receiving it, why then now

Switch doesn't charge for shipping on kites, probably why it wasn't an issue when ordering. I highly doubt they are giving you the flog off, they seem to be pretty on it with customer service. I only had one issue with them when ordering a set of lines, about 5 minutes after emailing them my phone rang and it was Switch, they fixed the issue right then.

Curious if you are returning the new Element, I just got my first few hours on my 9m and curious to other's thoughts on it. After a few good sessions I'll work on a review.
Kami- if you loved the Nitro II, you must love some power house kites! I had 8 and 10 Nitro II's and they were monsters. Massive jumpers if you got the technique dialed. Those were fun days.

Update when you can, curious to how they resolve this for you.

Yeah I do; I basically lazy, I hate having to work a kite.

Good more eh, well behaved when over powered too -- I kept riding it when guys swapped down to 10s.

The N4 just wasn't as simple to use, and the light wind relaunch was tricky...

So the shipping company says it's arrived but Switch says it hasn't?

Could either be the shipping company that's screwed up or Switch.

So are Switch saying they will sort you out regardless, even if it was the shipping company's fault? But either way they don't have your kite as being registered as returned?

Doesn't sound like they are trying to screw you over mate

It's tied up in the French customs. Typical ....switch have been great up till now ,was starting to wonder if I was being dicked around but na it's just the postage system .well it's not even that ,it's customs .anything can happen there .switch told me they have been in contact with customs and hopefully it's sorted ....still there !

Cool man so I reckon Switch will make sure they see you right. They are good to deal with.
If you like boosting get one of the new Nitros - I know Kami says he doesn't like them, but you need to try them yourself. I think they are amazing, huge boosting and hangtime!

I have come across a design flaw in the Nitro 6 and as a result am looking at other kites as an option. Although they paid for the repair to my kites, I still feel that they failed to really accept that it was design issue.

I am now looking at moving across to the Core XR's

Where the leading edge makes contact with the canopy (between the second and last strut) they have harsh stitching. All other brands of kites that I have looked at maintain smooth LE material where the canopy meets it. The stitching on this LE is rubbing on the finer material of the canopy and causing it to wear through. The incident has happened to 2 of my V6 Nitros and another 4 other kites (of mates) that I have looked at. It is where the LE sits prior to tether launching. This wear is causing a line along the entire length of the stitch, but in particular where the strut comes down to the LE.

The foot's finally healed up so I got the nitro out and gave it a good inspection before I headed out. Couldn't see any of that wear on either side of the kite.
Is this the sort of area I was supposed to be looking (couldn't quite tell from ya pic). Looked along the whole leading edge. See below:

From where you have circled, you need to more closer towards the leading edge. There is a another seam on the other side of the leading edge.

Had a good look, the other seam is a flatstitch so not the rough seam responsible for shi thouse's rip.

Mine looks all good, no sign of wear thankfully!

Another question, anybody ever owned a liquid force 2014 Hifi-x? The local has a bargain on a new one (old stock) and I'm pretty keen. I'd like something that doesn't try to dislocate my shoulders when I unhook and thought that could be a good cheap option, wife thrilled I want to add yet more kites to the garage pile of composting kites

if it is a return then the retailer should cover it really. In the EU they are obliged to inspect and fix and return the product free of charge to the customer.
