Thanks bramble Both are designed for waves with same surfboard rocker and thin rails Different kiters have there preference It's hard to quantify due to so many variables Wave size/ conditions ,wind conditions , riders size / weight and riders wave style For me I love wave model in 20 + Knots and over head If I surf kite back to back say Indo head height down the line the Shredder needs bit more input from me Re back foot location to edge of rail were my wave model my foot is over back of board there for I can go for it The wave model I can jamb and sink rail in on turns But it's just physics smaller tail area the harder it turns From trying other cut off nose boards the shredder dose turn better due to reduced tail area Hopefully that helps I am not a tech head But have the advantage of designing and experimenting with different shapes and refine them Looks like you are in Melbourne so I am available on Facebook/Instagram for demos

Always enjoy your posts. Boards look pretty tasty, and you sure looked like you had some nice conditions to run them through their paces.

Thanks dafish Yes it was nice this year being mostly on 8 m V5 Love this place to test the shapes back to back by me and others and Each year I go there I sell boards lol. Also had a go of Quobba fins they are definitely better in good waves

Hi Wobbles Yes we made 5'5 x 18.75 x 2.31" 30 Lts 2years ago which I surf on and kite with as light wind board Due to volume it dose not kite as well as low volume board I am 80 kg. If I had to make one again I would make it wider with more surface area and same Lts Also grab rail / groove to reduce rail thickness Which would help kiting with it If money was not a issue it would be sick to have it in Eps blank carbon bagged which would be in 1.9 to 2 kg range pic of 5'5 2015 model Merimbula Classic with 17 Zephyr

Thanks Plummet Yes it is bold but only an observation at INDO and other similar set ups and noticed by me and other riders I assume you would notice this also on your Mutant board Thin rail , low volume, straight line in rail or good designed cut off nose board Note I say this due to I have jumped on some cut off nose production board recently and it was a dog

To be fair yes. My mutant does crank upwind better. I haven't compared been on a similar tack to others to get a handle of how much better it might be.

From a building perspective. I'm loving the precision of carbon uni-stringers and the "hair net" style carbon wrap around the rails. That's some meticulous craftmanship right there.

Its also super awesome when you build something and it works better than the mass produced stuff that's out there. I share your design/build/ride stoke.

In fights aside. The boards are light years above in build quality and design than alot of Euro inspired big brand surf kite boards.

Have spent the last week riding my new Shredder cw Quobba fins in 2-4 ft surf in southern VIC. Board is awesome in the waves, pulls great lines and hangs in there when u want it to.

my son and I have been swapping between the Shredder and the Pro Whip CSC but the Shredder in both our opinions is much better board not only in the waves the youngster reckons it's awesome for strapless airs and tricks.

Nice to have local gear that's better than the big brands
