Looked like the NEO was suiting Pointa Preta..James Carew slaying giants on it and also Airton ripping so much skill.

After dropping some serious coin on a bar you'd have to justify your purchase to yourself and everyone else.

I choose what i think is the right kite for the conditions and dont adjust the trim. That's my personal preference.

I don't own nor have a bought a click bar if that is what you are saying. I've just used the bar over time and I'm just relating what I've found and what I've heard from those that I know can actually ride.

And yeh Weta I'm the same re trim... it's flat out or flat out, but the mechanism of the click bar does allow fluid and easy trim change. That's a fact. Let's stick to the facts shall we rather than personal preferences that no one really gives a Fck about.

My boy enjoyed it for freestyle as well for the same reason and he has bloody short arms.

My two cents ... I have been using a click bar for a year.

I ride surfboards and foils , my style is not kiting powered up... I am fine with being fully powered but like to ride the board off the fins more than the kite if that can be understood.
Set the kite and ride the board around that....drift and a kite that sits back is my thing.
I don't do tricks n stuff.

The clickbar fine tuning capability is good for me. Not as if I change it all the time but I do like it to suit the situation in Darwins varying conditions to find the sweet spot I am after.
Its great for foiling too, for changing settings between upwind and downwind when I need to lay off power or power up or somewhere in between.

Only things that that annoy me is the long throw , although it's great for depowering Neos in waves ( I could set the stopper but haven't got there yet ) and the act of twisting the powering up knob ... gets better with practice but it's not an easy action as Bara says.

If i went back to the normal bar , I reckon I would miss it , so I suppose that says it suits me.

Cheers.

Yeah.....and think of the disadvantage they have being on such a poor kite when they could be on a Reo who apparently to some "it shidts all over the neo for riding waves"... Takes brand pimping to a whole new level....

I also use clickbar 2018 model.
Attributes for me:
+Click function is great, I know exactly what happens when I click and I don't find the power on turn any difficult, just head downwind to het the pressure off if needed
+ I do like the long depower throw: gret for strpless freestyle rotations to not to loose the board when airing
+ simplicity of the bar functionality
+ no threads after rotations/loops
+ you can adjust the Y/V positions for two Y and full V, so it works for any kite if the bar width is ok

- the depower tube hinders the throw when turning the bar, but gets a bit better when it's wet
- mechanics inside of the bar, I haven't had any problems as of yet, but still, it is a more complex than front line depowered bars
- a bit heavy, and especially the ends of the bars are heavy and when spinning the bar it really spins (easily overspins) due to momentum
- some complain abt the lines, no experience on them yest

I'm not so sure about the pimljng accusation. I think the information put forward is fairly neutral so far ?

Ocean Rodeo Shift Bar - adjustable stopper, the bar doesn't stick when depowering and the mechanism is very simple and open so easily flushed, trim knob is in a different position and easily reached, easy to fully pull apart the bar. Lines are visible and top of the line Liros

The bar shape and diameter is different, but most peeps like it.

thats a proper pimp magnusod

Its funny because I have just tried the REO 7m out also and am writing the comprehensive review soon. I can say is that the REO doesn't ****e all over the NEO or vice versa. WHat I can say that they are 2 very different kites and I can imagine that just like coriander and bunch will love it and a bunch wont...whos right??. I am stoked to try all the kites I have, because each one has taught me things.

Exactly, that was my main point about my post. I don't believe that there are any kites out there nowadays that are far superior to other kites. Your reviews are great and unbiased. Keep it up. Much appretiated!!

Regarding Neo vs Reo you pointed to this post in the other thread which definitely seems more true.

Hi georgemay,

Both are excellent kites. We tend to find that the Neo suits riders over 85 kilo's a bit better and the Reo suits riders under 85 kilo's. The two kites are very different but both are excellent wave kites. This doesn't mean only heavy riders can ride Neo's or lighter riders can only ride Reo's. It always comes down to matching the requirements of the rider with the offerings of each kite.

The Neo will be a better choice if you do jumping as well as wave riding (see Airton, James C and Mitu. Reo is more responsive and faster to initiate turns. Both drift well and turn quick. It's true that the Neo is better for bottom end and the Reo better in top end, so you should ride a 1m smaller Neo than you would in a Reo. Reo is a better choice if you flick your kite around a lot, but smaller sizes I find are borderline hyper sensitive to bar input. Better to ride small sizes on small bars to reduce this a little.

I'll be interested in hearing AndreC's review as he does nothing but downwind and waves so will be more in tune with the subtleties of each kite more so than myself.

No mate, that's a downside for the Ocean Rodeo Bar compatibility with some other brands, all OR kites and a lot of others are 4 line low split so I guess it was never in the design spec, but never say never, it seems it could be easily incorporated.

Thanks man. Yeh it could be a decent feature to add.
