I'm interested in getting the Firewire Evo Helium Kite Surfboard however unsure what size to get, 5 1 or 5 3. I weigh approx 83kg dry without gear and want to use it generally from 15 to 25 knots. Normally ride in Victoria. Anyone got advice on which size to go for?

I'm about 85kg and have the 5'1. Absolutely no problems with the size for me, best board for knee - head and half waves I've ever had by far. Riding 6 and 9m neo from 18-30kn

Yeah, I'd say the 5'1 is best for you.

I'm 97kgs and ride the 5'3 in those winds

Good luck with that, I looked for 18 months for a second hand one to no avail. Got impatient when someone on here said they had stopped shipping them to Oz and bit the bullet.

Waited, waited, searched & searched, didn't find that unicorn.

I do not regret it

u will prob struggle to find new also.
Take a look at the duotone whip pro. same tomo cut off design concept but more refined for kiting with thinner rails to bury.
Ive got 1 just waiting to try out then will review.

The 2019 Cabrinha X-breed looks the goods. Might be worth a look as an alternative.

In Vic I use cut off nose board 21 LTS 5'2" I prefer the board to be not too short when on bigger waves But with the Evo you need to go smaller lengths as above kiters have said due to wide tail and there volume .In 18 +kns under that re wind I go to my weapon 17 m Zephyr I am 80klg 5'10" Note in 15 knots range you need more LTS which may compromise 25 kN Range and board will be to bouncy on top of water
