Hi Guys,

Have decided I would like to get a Cabrinha Tronic as my next board, having just had a go on a demo today.

I would just like some advice on which size to go for:

Either 145x43 or 141x42.

I am 95kg and 6'5, intermediate rider but looking to progress into some smaller waves etc. Primarily will be used in the Melbourne chop however. I had a go on the 145 today. I've read a few reviews that suggest this is quite a 'power hungry' board so perhaps the 145 would be better considering my size?

Cheers!

Yeah, I hated the one I rode this week. Was the 149 but felt smaller, slower and draggier, than my 140 Axis.

I'd say try another board...

I am 100kg, 6'3 and have the biggest one. You will want the big one.

Go big.
Im same height and weight and used to have the largest size they make (cant remember what size it was).
Was very power hungry. Felt like I had to be overpowered to ride comfortably.

If you were happy with the 145 demo, go with that.

But....

I think you'd be better off with a surfboard for waves. Then use a regular TT for flat water chop sessions.

To give you a reference point. Ellipse shape TT's loose surface area compared to rectangular TT's.

145x43 tronic has a similar surface area to 135x40 rectangular TT.

I ride the 2016 - 145 all the time in the Surf and flat water in Sydney and I'm 91kg. It carves really well in the surf for me. I'm thinking of getting the 149 as well for lighter winds. I also have the 141 for stronger wind days. I've been a surfer for years and enjoy riding twinnies instead of my surfboard whilst kiting. It's another Fun challenge. I recon you should at least go the 145, at your weight I'd go the 149. You can't go wrong. Go Demo both boards again in the same session, you'll understand the difference.
