Hi.

Can`t really deside what kites to choose.

Rider level medium-. No passes yet but hoping this year will be the one. Love big boost with downloops. Some loops and unhooked loops in lighter conditions.

No surf just TT.
Typical 12M wind is most common.
Todays quiver 13m 2013c4 10m 2014 c4 8m 2013 rpm
Weight 92 kg.

Have had these kites since 2009.

RPM earlier models have lacked the possibility in bigger models to booost big. 10M is okay but not great. 10m rpm was really my alltime favorite.
14M rpm is great for unhooking but upwind ability is not great. Not a good jumper.
12m rpm was really a 10,5m but from 2013 it got bigger i think. Have not tried it.

So how is the 2015 versions?

Ozone c4 13m is killing my armes. Really killing my armes. Love how the kites jump. Unhooked I find them as good as rpm.
ozone c4 10m is lacking some low end. RPM 10M better but jumps not as good.

1)
14m c4 2015(if the bar pressure is lower) with 10m 2015rpm keeping 8m rpm 2013
2)
Go for 12M RPM 2015 10M 2015 rpm keeping the 8 2013 rpm.
3)
14M rpm 2015 10m rpm 2015 keeping the 8 2013 rpm or is the 14 rpm a hopeless jumper and still has bad upwind ability.

Cant test so would be great with some input.

bit confused with your options...

but i would have to advise you to get the slingshot rpm over the ozone c4. ive got a 2015 c4 and the bar pressure is still very intense. it wont unhooked kiteloop very well in the newschool setting but its doable in the freeride setting on the bridal. it just sits to deep in the window in the newschool setting. which creates that deep heavey bar pressure. its designed specificly for loaded power moves. the rpm will be alot more forgiveing and easier to use for now and will have no problem getting you your first handle passes as you want at the end of the year.

as for your size options etc i just cant figure out what it is your asking just buy the size you need?

Thanks for your feedback.

yes if the bar pressure on the bigger models is still very intens i will opt for the rpm.

Regarding the size of the RPM - Is the 14M rpm to slow to get good lift. Would the 12M be better.

My c4 13M 2013 really yanks me off the water in 10 ms getting me up to abount 6-8 meters.

Will this be possible with the RPM 12/14?

I'd send Youri Zoon a FB message.

A 12 would work fine unless you're riding in less than 12-14 knots n over 90 kegs. 14 is slow n bit heavy, nothing like the 12 but has heaps of grunt. 12 being faster generates more apparent wind n has a lighter faster feel to it.

Good luck

I often wonder if people who make comments Or offer advice are actually basing on genuine experience.

I've owned 2016, 2015, 2013 14m RPMS. As well as other sizes including 12/11/10/9/8. And all the different size bars/lines.

The 14m is awesome. And I would recommend it over the 12m every time. On the longer lines it has an awesome low end and can be used for hydrofoiling etc, but under 10knots water relaunches can be difficult. so don't put it in the drink.

In previous years I've played around with what sizes of RPM make the best 3 kite quiver.

If you get the 14m, then the 11m and 9m work well.
However you might find 9m big for 40knot + winds.
You can change line lengths to suit also, It makes a difference.

In 2013/14
I had 14/12 and 10m C4
I found the sizes all overlapped but I was happy. prob needed a smaller size for big winds.

In 2015 I went 14/10/8
I found the jump was bit big between 14 and 10, and I only used the 8 twice.
And 17m zephyr. (Foiling).

2016
Found the perfect combo of 14/11/9.
And 13m chrono v2 (foiling).

2017?
im considering getting all the sizes... Lol.
And Ozone's for foiling.

In conclusion you should try/demo.. every second size is not to big a jump if you use different line lengths to suit conditions. Eg long lines for light wind and short for lots.

Id recommend 14/11/9. With all three bar/line options.

Hi Polykarb.

Thank for your reply.

How do you find the jumping ability on the bigger rpm sizes compared to the c4?

I found the C4 has more wakestyle pop and slack.
But I prefer the big power jumps of the RPM.
I use "freestyle"setting and lighter bar pressure setting (usually on the second from tips), so i can turn it fast and get that big sent jump, as well as using on foil and in the surf.
But......I'm moving towards more bar pressure and progressive wakestyle tricks where you want less movement from the kite and rely more on your boards "pop" than your kites lift.

The C4 is also an awesome kite too tho. I need to fly a demo again this year, I thought it was way more suited to wakestyle riding.
