This recently happened with my 2009 gear.
So glad it happened at launch rather than out in deep water.

I'm not in a position to by a new control bar and don't want to wait to the end of the season to save for a replacement.
Can anyone give me tips on replacing this cheap?

I can sell you a BWS low split V Bar and lines 24m in near new cond for $ 150 reasonably cheap out
Newcastle/central coast area, shoot me PM if interested
ps I don't know too much about 2009 set up so you will need to determine if you can adapt it

Mate that exact same thing happened to my 2011 Slingshot control bar. I had it repaired by Kitepower in Sydney, but it took 2 months and cost $100. I've been looking to sell that bar and the 11m Slingshot Turbo for a while but been to lazy to post it. Happy to sell the kite and bar for $150.
