Just wondering if anyone has any good tricks to keep velcro wake boots shut in the surf.
I have the slingshot ones with 3 velcros on each boot. It seems like anytime I smash through a big whitewash they just come undone.
I might just have to buy some glorious new Ronix with laces if I can't work out a solution.
Yeah man Ronix are good but be prepared to only get a season or two out of them. Build quality is $hit. I've been riding them for at least 8 years and gone through at least 8 sets @ $450 a pop.
I was actually seriously thinking of switching to velcro next season because I just keep pulling the eyelets out on my Ronix.
So yer sorry dude can't help with the velcro but let us know how you go.

If your on a budget you could replace the velcro - go to spot light and buy velcro hook and loop strips, buy a thread remover, cut the old velcro off with thread remover tool, attach the new velcro ,use stitching methods / contact adhesive and on the very ends of the velcro strips use super glue, dont super glue the whole strip of velcro on the straps on as it will be too stiff.
Dont forget velcro comes in hook and loop counts, the sticker and harder to seperate is the high hook and loop count, the easier is the lower count.
or try contacting slingshot direct for new parts.
or just buy new ones - lame option
yeah. if you want a good set of boots try Hyperlite Murrays . .. the've been the bench mark way before eppo and cauncy were experts
on the seabreeze bandwagon. heaps good deals from wayne rithchies. Hyperlite all the way. Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi...
Yeah boyz... Or try ozone or axis as per the usual reccomendatoions.
What about the SS KTV boots with gummy straps? Was thinking about them as while Ronix are still the most comfy I agree they don't last that long, and the laces are a pain (I know most are changing them to LF or other better laces). Still, rubber straps seem to be a good idea.

Great idea thanks, I didn't think the Velcro was particularly bad they are quite new, but I will check spotlight for some high end Velcro that might do the trick!
Velcro is for f##ktards who are mentally challenged to tie laces
So you use valcro then?

Nah ya missus prefers cuffs
Even the ronix come loose once a bit old.
Id get two runs and have to stop to retighten.
Stole some heavy duty toggle things from a backpack, and with 2 toggle things them bad boys stay sinched the whole day.
What about the Ronix gummy equivalent? The Supreme boots seem to have a different fastener that looks like a half way house (looks like it has more tightening points for a closer fit and gummy straps to keep everything closed tight.
