Hey guys,
I've converted my watch over to a smart watch after seeing the specs on the garmin fenix products a year or so ago, and noticed that someone has finally made a decent kitesurf / kitefoil / windsurf app for the watch.
It's called jmg-app. from the garmin Q store
Measures 10 sec / 30 sec / instantaneous speed average/max, Heart rate log, best jump height, hangtime, and has a kind of semi VMG off the wind calculator and a bunch of other bits and pieces.....
I can't compare it to my WOO for accuracy, but it's working off the garmin accelerometers, so I would think it's going to be reasonably accurate
anyone else tried it for this?
Thanks for the heads up - looks quite good (have not used kiting yet though).
Did you test it yet? Worth getting the paid version?
Cheers

I got the paid version... I'm not sure how it correlates to something like the Woo... on face value it under read .... and was unreliable on the kitefoil ( registering jumps that never happened) after bumping the watch.... the features are cool,
A couple of shortfalls - you cannot scroll through the pages , so u need to disable the pages you don't want, and enable the page you want to look at to force the watch to use that page when you hit start.
The author added a page after I emailed him with a concept, and he said he was looking at expanding it in the future to graph polar data.
It GPS tracks speed no issues. I haven't figured out what the wind efficiency score is, but suggested vmg would be a more useful readout.
