Looking for advice about switching to a directional board. I am intermediate level, 80kg, currently riding on a 134cm twintip (Liquid Force DLX) with a 10m Ozone Catalyst V1. I am looking for something that can double as surfboard (graduating from softboard). I read that some but not all types of surfboards are suited for kiting. Any recommendations/ advice?

Grab a 2nd hand 30ltr-ish surfboard as a first kite board. Tricky picking a board for both.
Prone surfing you'll need to allow volume for paddling.
Becomes a compromise choice, how much paddle float will you do without for your kite board.
dedicated kite boards are stronger. Your foamy will probably be >40ltrs.

Got a sunova vader 5'8" nearly 30 litres was custom built (not for me) as a paddle and kite surfboard

I doubt any weekend warrior could surf it unless they are ~60kg or a pro.

Makes a great light wind board though
