Hey guys
Stoked to announce that my film Tunnel Vision is live now on youtube!
Growing up as a surfer, I've always felt that kitesurfing is the perfect extension of surfing and wanted to create something that showcased just that. For me, my kite has become a tool that turns those windy sessions into a whole new world of fun. Tunnel Vision is an action heavy film that highlights my love for barrels and shows the similarities between sports that I have grown to love!
Grab a drink, put it on the big screen, sit back, relax and enjoy!
Well that was absolute quality! Epic riding in amazing places, and in so many disciplines. Hero for sure.
Best ive seen for many years and so many highlights crammed into a short film. Thanks for the effort to share this with everyone.
Thanks for the kind words guys and its been an epic couple years filled with some amazing sessions. Stoked to hear everyone liked the film!
Wanker,.. rub some more salt in the wound why dont ya.... off season, cant travel and then you release this.... not fair!
That left me frothing!

Yeah dude, that was rad!
Some of the best wave kiting I've seen
And I loved how a lot of it was at normal speed!
How do you not get tangled in your lines when you don't make it out of the barrel?

Agreed. I too would like to see more of the waves that went wrong, and you gave us a little shot of you outrunning your kite after it dropped. A bit of carnage is always good because we all know not all sessions work out for the best. Maybe a little blooper segment at the end of your next vid. Quality stuff....keeping us all pumped.
That was brilliant!
If the intention was to showcase what is possible on a kite then I think that's the benchmark. Mission accomplished.
Good frequencies as well. Nice to here some guitar as opposed to the same tracks regurgitated from the euro cohort.

Stoked to hear all the positive feedback on this.
Learning how to manage line slack just takes a little practice. Although some of the clips so extremely slack lines, this is only really on barrels I know I should make or waves that have a fairly defined channel meaning the kite will most likely be safe when it crashes. In other situations is just knowing when to eject. If I find my lines going slack I'll just pin drop to regain tension in the lines and use the kite to pull me through the back. If you find the right wind angle (side to sideoff) your kite does naturally fly pretty well with minimal input. Hope that gives a little more insight on it anyway.
and more drone clips!!
Need a little more budget but maybe this will be easier in the future. For this one it was just Anders doing all the film work that trip so he did a great job getting a mix of everything. Definitely some crazy angles with it though!

Thanks mate. Stoked on the music from The Walking Who. Actually a relatively unknown Aussie band which is cool.
Definitely pumped on the soundtrack, I had it cranked up on my way to Mokuleia yesterday. Top notch editing too. The kiting was okay, I would have been way deeper on those pits... Hahaha...right. So nuts man!
Awesome video!
This is up there with the classics such as RIP from Robby Naish (inspired me in 90's to windsurf) and Aaron Hadlow's early 2000's videos by Andy Gordon (like Calibrate) for getting you frothing to get out!
Love that endless wave from 11.30 to 12.30. That is the stuff of dreams. No other dudes around Just you blazing an endlessly jacking up face. Is that some remote location that no one knows about?
Watched it over the weekend, simply awesome! And thanks for introducing me to a new fav band :)
Haha - how many Quarks did you klill in the making? I imagine you dunk yours pretty regularly - have you switched to the Max for linemounts?

Good insights!
Outstanding video thanks Keahi (and sponsers)!
I hope you are sharing this in surfing circles..
surely this would encourage more people into the sport.
Something I've often wanted to know when i see videos like this, is details on the sessions: gear used, local conditions (swell direction, wind speed and direction, etc).
Thanks again.
Tim

It's every surfers ( not kiters) dream wave. Pretty well known... exposed a couple of years ago... in middle of nowhere.
Green with envy.... here or kelly Slaters wave pool for as many rides as you like for a week guaranteed. Hmmmmmmmm

This is so absolutely fantastic. As if we were not impressed by the barrels then you throw some massive strapless spinning pop shoveit whirly gig thing that would take ten years to land once. Just sensational.
I would put Keahi right up there with Laurie Towner and Rob Machado for that kind of effortless, smooth style that simply cannot be learned.

exactly. Beautiful to watch, yet makes us all feel rather clumsy in comparison. If his riding doesn't inspire then lawn bowling would be a more appropriate sport.
Great off season kite vid to get pumped about the wind coming up in a few months!
What is an offseason?
