I'm headed to Coffs for the school holidays, and was wondering if there are many days that might have wind. Is anybody familiar with the area and might have some insight?
Have kited Byron once in winter, not that much fun in a NW and that was at the pass where it was x-shore and gusty. You would need to find a lagoon or inlet to deal with mainly offshore winds that time of year unless you get a southerly front.
Heading up again this June-July, just taking a surfboard at least the waves should be half decent.

your only chance at a kite will be a southerly. From memory there are no decent spots kiteable in a westerly and the NEers dont start up until spring.
