Guys,
whats the latest on this? I have the Moses 633 and want to check phantasm line before ordering new mast...I'm over corrosion and stainless, read titanium parts on SS line..also stronger ...hope SS fuse compatible with 633 and only one fuse for surf and kite lines..all sounds good so whats the catch ...probably heavier and costly? But who cares if don't have to waste time greasing and worry about breaking ** when jumping...so all in all Moses/SS divorce is better for consumers

I looked up properties of ss 316 and titanium and now have doubts that titanium is stronger but it is lighter in weight .

Looking at the design, I would say that SAB is the brain behind it. I reckon it is still a Moses copy but they are now using a different outer weave to make it look different.

If you're into jumping with a surf wing, I doubt you'll ever find one that doesn't break.

I've been drooling over these images like a hormonal 14 year old, strange to think they will be here in a couple of weeks.

Are they going to expand the range into larger wings for wing foiling ?

Anyone had a crack on these new foils yet?

Slingshot Aus appear to be only one listing them, and then only the 633 with the extra winglets.

To the Retailers that stalk this forum - what's the go?

Kite power Syd has a 633 package, the 730 and 657 packages are on back order.
Hoping they get here soon as I've ordered the 730.
No one in Australia has ridden one yet
As soon as I get on mine I'll write a review. Note, my side gig is the Slingshot Tech and communications person.

Here it is, 1 of only 3 in the country! Man these things are proving hard to get, the demand in the US and UK has left us with very limited numbers. True there are no demos in Australia, so head to Huston Kite Boarding for the best review so far.
I work with Slingshot as the communications manager and I'm still waiting for my 730 kite package!!!!
Hit up the Slingshot Australia team today if you want to be the first one to ride one of these bad boys.

Allegedly, Moses surf wings fit the new Slingshot fuse, so if you get one of the faster wing packages being released either 657 or 730, you should be able to use the same SS mast/fuse setup for your Moses surf wings if you already have them e.g. 679(683S)/633/790/873... etc.. which would be mint if true ...

Are you able to confirm this Grant?

Corrosion issues will be just the same as Moses - have to put it apart and wash in fresh water after every use if you don't want fuselage corrosion in the mast pocket and along the wing lines. No big issue with bolts - if you use tefgel and pull apart once every 3 months then they don't seize in the fuselage.
Slingshot fuse is aluminium as well and you need 2 sizes just like Moses. All you get is supposedly better and stiffer mast compared to Moses for close to $900 premium.

I had Moses 633 on 91cm mast - never noticed any mast stiffness problems, would not pay more for the new one myself, the $900 is better spent elsewhere :-)

I'm looking for a new foil myself to replace my old carbon Lift. I agree that the Phantasm look expensive compared to the Moses so I did some research as to why. It's hard to find much info but the Phantasm comes as a kit, including travel bag and wing covers, these are extras with Moses.
I looked at what Moses charge for the extras, about $230, that's if you need covers and a case. The vid says the Phantasm case is US$150 so maybe a higher spec.
It's a bugger about the alloy fuselage but I understand how difficult it is to build a carbon fuselage that would handle the loading of large wings without becoming too bulky and effecting performance. Some brands do it by making the foil less modular, but then you can't swap wings etc.
Even thought the Phantasm costs more I'll probably pay the premium. Only one fuselage needed for the range. Larger mast /fuselage connection (3 screws)
Hi tech mast construction in longer sizes, I currently use a 100cm mast
Moses surf wings fit the fuselageSo I'm thinking the 730 kit, with the 103 mast as I already have a Moses 633 wing.

The news is that the Americans get charged $1850 USD ($2500 AUD) and in Aus we get charged $3160 AUD. What is up Slingshot Aus?

Bugger, thought you were onto something, looks like they are just offering a discount due to being the off season over there and they don't seem to do international shipping. Even at full price they are 10% cheaper but most retailers here would probably give you that anyway.

$2714 AUD delivered, from the UK. WTF? I genuinely cannot understand why it would be so much cheaper buying the same kit from the other side of the world. What is up Slingshot Aus?

Everyone's first choice would definitely be to buy from their local shop, but this type of pricing structure makes it a much more difficult decision than it needs to be. Ideally you would want to just walk into the shop and get the same price as anyone else around the world. Instead of, you live in Aus so here is 20% extra, you can afford it.

But that's vat free, if you get stung with gst bringing it in that's an extra $300. I'd rather hit up a local retailer for a 10% discount and get the local support if something needed replacement. Just have to wait for the 730 kit to come into stock.

I'm not planning to import (not yet convinced of the merits of the phantasm range, seems like moses kit but at higher price). And yes a englishman would be paying a high vat rate, lifting the price for someone living there (creating the artificial market for a Ausie to get things shipped over, and creating resistance for buyers to make the right decision of buying from their local). The Americans are still getting good vat free deals.

730 Package marketing claims "The wing's unique inverted gull wing shape not only provides insane speed but also delivers a game-changing self-levelling flight that governs your height no matter how fast you go."

Really?

The unique inverted gull wing ... is in the genetics I suppose - the middle orange wing profile is my Infinity 76 = 1560cms2.. A very graceful profile although not as tough as it should be on the tips/T.E.
It is a g8 wing for low (low =6+knts) to medium winds - I have a couple of mast lengths and the shortie is best at Lake Weyba - it is shallow.
Using it is a trade-off - recently when trying a lite wind tack I nosed under and after the gyros () re-stabilised I looked for the board and looked and.. realised it was stuck in the mud on the bottom.. (I have an orange ribbon on the board to help spot) After trawelling - up and down for what seemed an eternity it popped up slightly upwind of where I had BDragged to... The difference in weight of my Carbon setup (although longer mast) is the better buoyancy has been too g8 to hold the foil down in the mud. I would really like to be able to replace the SS aluminium mast (could be a sword in a Marvel movie) with a carbon equivalent as I like the wing lite wind performance (+ plan to wing with it)...
Any pointers... (I have seen a quick release board attachment replacement 4 original - buying that!!)?
Thanks
Cheers

So after a few sessions on the 730 I'm still amazed how much lift this wing produces. Yeah it's fast but stable at all speeds, suprised how slow it will go too. As expected it took a couple of return trips to the beach to find the correct location on the track. The glide is great I wouldn't say mind blowing but noticeable. I was concerned that it was going to be tough in the tight turns. I was happy to find out it will also turn as fast as you can push.
Jesus the mast is stiff.. super stiff it's do reactive to your movements. Very pleased that I can also bolt on Moses wings with little to no fuss. Yes it's pricey but you get what you pay for.
Its one beast of a foil with plenty of options to cross over to any other foil sport.

I'm not convinced with Phantasm range..to start with the price tag is crazy with or without covers but I guess no one pays full price..
Currently I'm happy with Moses 633 fitted onto slingshot aluminum mast and if I'm not jumping weight doesn't matter much..if cant carry an aluminum mast to beach i should be at home?..
and prefer to have a separate full kit ready to go rather than change wings plus board or at least mast track position. So having specialized gear for 637 wing and 633 makes sense at these prices. Could get cheap Moses gear for $1500 so why bother splashing out $3500? Yes this kit looks more durable and strong but do you really need this unless having big wings/heavy rider? There is a reason why some manufacturers didn't go down this path and have one fuselage for all wings - its not rocket science, you just compromise - for speed applications fuse is too big and not necessary, same with oversized base plate...for jumping there are pros and cons..on one hand stronger structure good but additional weight not good.. currently I'm using Moses 111 mast and haven't found the need for a stronger setup and haven't seen broken kit either so I'm just questioning the whole Slingshot phantasm theme about going big and strong? Most people I know eventually end up with more than one kit so whats the point of compromising ..but hey consumerism doesn't work that way..
