I've just ordered my first foil , Alpine Access V3 to attach to my VR5 board I've had for a few months.

Not many English reviews for this combo because it's euro.... but the price was pretty good, and if the build of the foil matches the board should be great.

Any1 on here ridden any of their gear ? I noticed they made their first foil around 2010!

Yes, very short ride. It was mounted on a Dawrfcraft 4'6", the balance was off and the straps were too small, but it felt like a nice ride. As stable as the HG but more responsive, and nowhere near as heavy!

It was the guys first foil too -- I rode it far upwind for him so he could get away from the shallows. He got up and riding pretty quickly.

I considered one too but shipping for the while set killed the deal...

Shipping cost me 90 Euro, but you don't have to pay the VAT so the prices are all 19% off advertised.

Couldn't find any info on their higher spec wings either, just a few ratings on their website , I'll put a review in once I get a chance to ride it.

Bought it for cruising around in light winds on holidays. It looks a lot more efficient than the other price point offerings / beginner packs

I wanted the whole set up, and it pushed it over the import duties limit too.

Should be good. Two guys have them, now I think of it . . . both whistle very loudly when at speed. The non-learner had a Spotz something and got the Alpine, then wanted something more surfy and mounted an LF wing to it I thought the Alpine was far better.

I only ever found maybe two reviews on YouTube too. Both positive.

If you paid more than 627 euros (excluding VAT and freight) it is very likely that the shipping company will ask you to pay 10% GST + 5% custom fee+ $50 handling prior to releasing the goods.

A friend of mine (in Perth) had the Access V1 or V2 (can't remember which one) before upgrading to the carbon version.

He highly rates it and even mentioned he shouldn't have upgraded to the carbon. If I remember correctly he had a VR5 board and sold it. Possibly you bought it from him? If that's the case maybe contact him for feedback on the foil. He is a very good foiler.

Hey Livit,

Yeah - If I was in Aus, may have been stung for who knows what, but last time I imported a bunch of kiting gear in Jan, there were no charges at all.

I'm O/S at the moment, and there are no charges where I am.

There package deal is pretty cheap compared to similar stuff.... 1663 Euro for the board / carbon foils / ali mast + Fuse

When I rode the board with my foils, it was more touch down crash resistant than the other freeride boards I've ridden,

The Carbon foils / accessories are bloody expensive by themselves... around 500 euro per wing, or 800 for a mast. Was thinking about their GT wing too, just for messing around at speed, but I can't find a single review on that one, so decided to go the standard option and take it from there.

Might make my own front wing also, see how it compares :)

Wow that looks nice. Looking forward to the review. Are you heading out this arvo? I'll be foiling on the river today so will keep an eye out for an orange flash flying past me.

It worked, but I reached the point where I needed to $$$$ for a design point fuselage + foil shape - rather than guessing and manufacturing/testing.

The other thing is the alpine foil fuselage had flat mounting pads, making it easy for me to shape a foil, and mount it straight on to test.

No wind this weekend where I am.... Next weekend looking great though.

The V3 of their mast - I like it a lot. It's incredibly stiff in both connections, the KF box is very snug with no movement, and the design of the fuselage to connect onto the mast is both a massive cost saver for consumer, but pretty much the best use of Form strength to create a rigid connection.

The fuselage is massively long, but the stiffness in the vertical plane is crazy. It feels like no flex.

Can't wait to ride it - I also ordered their new HELP race wing - thats supposed to be good from 10 to 36 kts.

I have no idea what the aluminium setup will feel like above 30 kts, but my other plan was to CNC my latest carbon mast end, to be accepted into the fuselage - if it turns out the aluminium is not stiff enough.

My only concern is how the galvanics will work - I'm riding in incredibly salty water, so you can't really get a better test on how it lasts.

Just make sure you disassemble it after evey session...
Have been riding alpine foils for a while used to have the V1,riding the carbon version with a aluminium fuselage now and it doesn' lie the salt....
Enjoy the ride it's a nice kit of gear...

My mate over here has decided to get the Carbon 5 version. So I should be able to do a little back to back ;)

He spoke with one of the head guys in Alpine Foil, some interesting things to come out.

All of their boards are a newly designed with concave deck ( says some are convex on the website - incorrect )

FS2 harder to ride, not best choice for the light wind.

Regarding the Carbon 5 - the aluminium and titanium fuselages are stronger than the carbon fuselage for jumping.

Their 'Ultimate' carbon masts are the strongest and made on separate production line by Air Team vs the Access / Carbon 5 masts.

So if you want the best mast - it's the Ultimate Carbon, with titanium fuselage, otherwise the aluminium setup.

New Fly wing out also - aimed more at beginners, lower end than their XLP2 wing ( 800 cm ) and low 20's top speed.
