That the intelligence of average Australians is average?? And far below that of a professional person of Mediterranean descent??

So, how much did you buy or is this post racist towards average Australians??

There was a false rumor that bog paper was made in wuhan China and supply would be cut off

I read yesterday that 43% of our paper is imported from China with the rest made here. But the supermarkets have enough stored in their warehouses to hopefully see it through. They were just simply caught unawares by the panic purchase.
But would there now be panic purchasing caused by panic purchasing.

Thanks to the tabloid fake news media we have these days who brought the ridiculous story about shortage of it.

Actually i think it was an coordinated exercise by the media just to test how much influence they still have these days.

There is idea to resolve Corona crisis.

since we could have reusable paper why not to do the same with food?
Nice tasty granules could be made/ form of disposed plastic.
Spray a bit of taste bait and eat. Then wash the poo thoroughly , and use again and again.

Reusable food version could be popular at home, more difficult to apply in public restaurants where client do escape with precious reusable granules.

There is even more. Now we could use Virtual Google/ glasses and easy extend impression/ sensation our plain granules to most refined dishes while eating

Don't worry, I'm sure all you guys will be vindicated in your disdain for people preparing for shortages once COVID-19 is shown to be 'just a flu bro!'

you know how many people the flu kills each year?
It's lots, right?

The flu has a 0.1% CFR (confirmed fatality rate)

The WHO has just announced the CFR for the COVID-19 is... 3-4%.

and furthermore, the R0 number is 3-4 times higher. That means it's much more contagious than the flu.

Do you get it yet? Don't worry, you more than likely will.

I also have to say, that with the WHO having been down-playing the severity all along, they were saying the CFR was 1% at most, they won't even call a pandemic a pandemic, this figure of 3-4% is almost surely going to be a low ball.

The media is influencing you and you don't even know it.
They are making you focus on the toilet paper as a ridiculous thing, it's stupid right? Ergo, the whole flu thing must be a panic about nothing, look at what the stupid people are doing, buying toilet paper FFS!

It's not the only item flying off the shelves.

But don't worry, I'm sure you'll all be safe and happy to go out amongst the general (potentially infected at 80%) public to do your grocery shopping. It's just a flu, bro.

Don't you all know, since the masks all sold out, people have been making their own out of multiple layers of toilet paper.

Going by the panic buying, the influence is right up there. Posting photos with alarmist headlines trying to outdo the competitive media outlets, in hope of readers and or viewers latching onto their individual media outlet drivel, including the clowns running the ABC, which leads the charge in most states

So you're saying people are only overreacting, leading to panic buying, due to media influence?

No but, there's point trying to understand stupidity.

I went to check our supplier,
au.whogivesacrap.org/
And even they have sold out, but interestingly there's this fact from them.
"In a separate statement last night, Who Gives A Crap co-founder Simon Griffiths said recent demand was eight times the average.New South Wales is currently the biggest buyer, Griffiths said, adding that Mosman and Balmain, two of Australia's wealthiest suburbs, are currently the biggest-buying postcodes."
