There were some places which would have been so cool to be a part of.
When was the best time and place to be alive?
I would have loved to have lived in New York in the 1980s. The money, wall street and the artists living in the same place really would have been fun with the vibe of the 1980s.
Also, I think it would have also been cool to be living in Bali in the 1930s or even the 1970s. The surf was/is awesome and it wouldn't have been crowded. The people were beautiful and were not so westernised. The Balinese people are the descendants of the Majapahit kingdom of Java and have a fascinating culture, beliefs and traditions that would make daily life really interesting with dance and art. At that time there were no traffic jams in Bali, in fact, Kuta was a sleepy village and the reef was a better break apparently.
So, what do you think? Sydney in the 1960s? Melbourne in the 1990s? London in the 1920s? ?????? in the 2010s
Currently safe from the elements with a stomach full of food and a belly full of beer. I have no debt and work so I can surf and fish. I dont see the appeal to money, new york and artists. Sounds like a contradicting hell hole.
1000 years in the future would be interesting to visit, to see what state the place is in. If we've made amazing progress forward, or have turned the world into a cinder.

I'm going to be the glass half empty .
I predict in 1000 years it's going to be hell . Fight just to eat and breath. If we're here at all , serves ourself right.
Earth was clean and fresh 100 years ago , look what we done .
1000 years ?
Dont worry , earth will re grow and be fresh again , once we're gone.
100 years ago we had smoke pollution from back yard incineraters, rivers we more toxic today.
Disease was so bad life expectancy was mid 50s now its plus 80.
More people have been lifted from poverty than ever in history.
Yes so many people draw a line and think bad. Why?

No idea, I'd hate to live 100 years ago, we in the middle of the first world war, I'd probably be in agony in a French trench
no - if you had survived the war, and the Spanish influenza, you would be either on the way home or on the way to Russia to fight the reds.

Exactly. What's the point in contemplating a 1000 years from now. You only have this moment. Everything else is just mind wank.
Yes but there's been no wind!
But I am very curious about where we'll be in the future, there's so many possibilities for good bad and indifferent.
There's one thing for sure though it won't be anything like now.
The perfect time is from tomorrow till the end of the week.
Hey Cauncy have you got another log on, I think I recognise that posting style.
Australia before the white fellas turned up.
We had to send them somewhere

But what's the purpose in projecting future scenarios? It just takes you away from being here and now. Mind projections like this could be the root cause of most suffering really.
just let it unfold brother there is nothing that can be done about it. Unless of course you choose to be delusional, highly egocentric and make believe you can do something about it.
If so, go right ahead. The rest of us will leave our stupid and highly simple minds and hit the water with gratitude.
Aspen for 6 months and SE Queensland the rest. Only problem is the best weather is at the same time....
Absolutely none, that's meaningless when you go forward 1,000 years.
I guess I'm just a scifi freak, and wonder what will be realised, AI, Dyson spheres, warp drives, custom bodies, bionic enhancement etc. The list is endless, and there's probably other stuff no scfi writer has thought of.
Actually it's interesting reading some very old scfi about the present time. There's colonies on the moon, but computers still take up whole rooms.
That's why I'd like to visit, to see what will happen.
Part of my enjoyment of this moment, is to explore possibilities, we all do things differently.
